Uninstall / Linux / Arch

Uninstall on Arch Linux.

Remove Ilopad from Arch Linux, with its settings and the permissions that it added.

Follow the part that matches how you installed Ilopad. Each part removes the program. The last part is optional: it also removes your settings and the permissions that Ilopad added to your computer.

If you added the Ilopad repository

Use this if you installed Ilopad with pacman from the Ilopad repository.

1

Quit Ilopad

If Start on Login is on, turn it off in Settings first. Then open the Ilopad window, click the menu button and click Quit. Or quit Ilopad from a terminal:

pkill -x ilopad-server
2

Remove Ilopad

pacman removes the program and its menu entry:

sudo pacman -R ilopad-server
3

Remove the repository and its key

Delete the three lines that you added to /etc/pacman.conf, then remove the key:

sudo sed -i '/^\[ilopad\]$/,/^Server = /d' /etc/pacman.conf sudo pacman-key --delete 9B88125FDFB1653D4A6E39EE3A59EC22020F75A0

If you installed a single release by hand

Use this if you installed a downloaded package.

1

Remove your settings and the permissions

Optional. Removing the package leaves these behind. Do these steps after you removed Ilopad with one of the parts above.

1

Remove the access to the input device

Ilopad added a device rule the first time that it asked for access to the input device. Remove it:

sudo rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/70-ilopad-uinput.rules

If you clicked Use input group or Choose a different group, Ilopad also added the rule /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ilopad.rules and put your account in that group. Remove them too:

sudo rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ilopad.rules /etc/modules-load.d/ilopad.conf sudo gpasswd -d "$USER" input
Skip the last line if you were in the input group before you installed Ilopad, or if a different program needs it. If you selected a different group, use its name instead of input. If gpasswd says that you are not a member, Ilopad did not add you, and there is nothing to remove.
2

Remove your settings

This deletes your settings, your paired devices and the server key, and also the Start on Login entry. If you install Ilopad again later, you must pair each device again:

rm -rf ~/.config/ilopad ~/.config/autostart/ilopad-server.desktop
3

Restart your computer

If you removed yourself from the input group, restart your computer. Linux applies a change to your groups only when you log in again.
